  • What Are the Weight Divisions in MMA?

Just like boxing, there are also weight classes or divisions in Mixed Martial Arts. As I have read about it, there are differences on limits since weight limits in MMA are higher compared to boxing.

Below are MMA limit weights in pounds for each division.

    Flyweight - 125
    Bantamweight - 135
    Featherweight - 145
    Lightweight - 155
    Welterweight - 170
    Middleweight - 185
    Light Heavyweight - 205
    Heavyweight - 265
Super Heavyweight - No weight limit

Never thought that a super heavyweight division in Mixed Martial Arts will be "no weight limit". I thought that there are limits on any division on any sports or martial arts discipline.

I am also quite surprised to know that there is such division with no weight limit. Maybe there are chances that some fights in this category, that the opponent is not match to the other.
