Backhand - a stroke in hitting the ball which is using the left hand for the right handed player and vice versa for the left handed player.
Base position - the center position
Center line - a line that separates the right and left service court.
Fault - a violation of the playing rules
Net Shot - a shot that hit the top of the net and drop.
    Serve - also called service
Smash - a hard hit overhead shot.

I just know the ... ball ... you use to play with is called a shuttlecock. I'm not sure if "ball" is the correct term. It's circular but it has this sort of fan thing to it.

I think the correct term is the shuttlecock itself.
The fan thing you are talking about could be the feathers around it which is usually from a goose or a duck.

I knew just the basic or the common terms used in badminton. That includes net, set, smash, forehand stroke and backhand stroke.
